"Students use the Samepage mobile app to communicate with their team members – it has simplified their communication."
Dr. Marie-Line Germain, Associate Professor of Human Resources and Leadership, Western Carolina University
Western Carolina University is a public university and a constituent campus of the University of North Carolina system. Samepage is currently in use by students and faculty in certain graduate courses.
Managing classroom work is a challenge that is magnified when that classroom is filled with remote students, and magnified again when those students need to consult with clients throughout the semester. There are tools designed for classroom collaboration, but they lack useful real-time communication features like chat and the ability for students to easily collaborate with clients outside of the classroom.
Samepage provides a platform for students to communicate inside and outside the classroom, manage their projects, and invite users outside of the university to collaborate on certain assignments.
Samepage acts as the virtual "classroom" for the course - with a class calendar, relevant links, files, and multimedia, all collected on a Samepage page. The calendar keeps the entire class up to date on deadlines, the task management tools allow students to divide work and track progress throughout the semester, and Samepage's built-in file sharing functionality lets the students and professor share class materials.
As the semester progresses, class members keep in touch with each other and their clients using Samepage's built-in communication functionality. All conversations are kept right alongside project progress and each team member stays up-to-date from their phone or computer.
